Fitchburg and Leominster Mass Daily News.- Lots of people had tried to start a small business in a city that it's not business friendly, and most of the Fitchburg business development administrators are too old to even remember what the word BUSINESS really means... That's just one of the reasons you see many commercial spaces for rent, and local businesses closing their doors or moving to the sister city Leominster MA, which is one of the best places in the state of Massachusetts to start a successful small business.
Well, why we said that Fitchburg is the worse place to start a small business?
Simple, to start a business in Fitchburg you need a place of business on a commercial area which is ok. So, this is what happens, you put a deposit and paid the first month of rent on a office space for example, then you go to the Fitchburg City Hall to get your business license, the first thing you get is a bad attitude service (Maybe because your making them work) from the desk people, and then they tell you that you need some kind of parking permit that even the office owner didn't know you needed... Sometimes they ask you about utility permit or something like that. Well, now you need to get all those permits.
Many entrepreneurs that we interviewed told us that it took more than 3 month and up to 7 month before they can open for business... Most of them didn't wait and went to Leominster where the got the license in less than 10 minutes and the office spaces and almost any commercial space were cheaper than Fitchburg.
Looks like Fitchburg will turn into a ghost town, by having many empty commercial spaces. Come on Mr. Mylott you need to do some real changes, if you want to pay Fitchburg debts!

I completely agree with the last comment... The Fitchburg city hall needs some new and smart business thinking people that will fix tis town and make it into a profit and best living generating community like Leominster.

ReplyDeleteAnd all thanks to the stupid Fitchburg's mayor Dan Mylot. If you don't believe me just take a drive around Fitchburg main street and count how many closed or stores for rent you can find...
Like my old man said "if the city hall people love the Mayor, that means the mayor is just another monkey trash with tie, but if they hate him, that means he is making them work the right way and he is doing the right thing!"
Now we know what kind of mayor is Mylot... We need a good one on the job.

Fitchburg Ma is a very profitable market but the people in the Fitchburg MA city hall are from 1937, so old they don't even know what the word Business men anymore...
