FITCHBURG MA: Fitchburg Police Hire 6 New Officers

Fitchburg MA and Leominster MA Events News.- About time Fitchburg MA Police get some new help to keep this city in control. After completing the 22 weeks Police Academy in Reading, and graduated. The Fitchburg Police Department welcome six new police officers... Capt. Mark Louney confirm that the force has bugeted to open 92 new positions for this year which are; 72 patrol officers, 20 supervisors, and has one open sergeant's position.

Some of this officers had served the military, here is there names:

- Michael Hoag-Wing: U.S. Marine Corps Reserve

- Robert Huse: Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Fitchburg State College

- Thomas Wade: Ex-correctional officer in the Worcester Country Sheriff's office and Special Emergency Response Team

- Robert Raboin: Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Fitchburg State College and 6 years in the National Guard as a military police officer

- Kevin Richard: Served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a diesel mechanic and pursuing an associate degree in criminal justice at Mount Wachusett Community College

- Robert Soroka: Served 8 years in the U.S. Army Reserve

Mayor Dan H. Mylott said that there has been a police officer on foot patroling Main St. and with this new officers they will be adding more foot patrols. It's also good news to know that police department is in better financial shape this year and they are trying to avoid the 2003 financial constraints...
