Fitchburg and Leominster MA Business News. - Did you know that telecommunication company EchoStar will buy satellite Internet services comapny Hughes Communications for about $1.34 billion, the corporate spoke person said. EchoStar is very happy with the deal which worth $2 billion including their debts.

Also, ambulance services provider Emergency Medical Services had agreed to sell the company to a private-equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice for $64 a share, which is about $3.2 billion.

In the automobile industry news, General Motors will pay more than $189 million in profit-sharing to 48,000 U.S. hourly workers and million more in bonuses to salaried employees, according to company documents obtained by the Associated Press.
