Fitchburg and Leominster MA Event News, Presented By The Internet Marketing For Newbies Blog. - The Leominster Sportman's Association celebrated its 125th anniversary from 11 am. to 1 pm. at the outdoor range located on 1455 Elm St., Leominster. John M. Browing's .45 automatic pistol became the standard sidearm for the army over 100 years ago. To be part of this event you needed your own .45 from 1911 or close, three magazines if you posses them, 50 bullets, protection gear for your eyes and ears. Also custom were accepted, the whole thing was only $5.

Also, locals celebrated Women's History Month with "Girl Power: The Supremes as Cultural Icons", at 2 pm. at the Public Library located on 30 West Street. People joined the pop cultural historian and music journalist Tom Ingrassia as he explored the immense popularity and impact of the the group in the 1960s and 1970s, and why their accomplishments are still important today. The event included audio, video, and lecture format. The program was free, you can call 978-534-7522, Ext. 3 for more information.

Dance2Swing presented The Fat City Band at 7:30 pm. at the Leominster Lodge of Elks, located on 134 North Main St., the program price was $12. People also enjoyed swing dance lessons at 6:30 pm.. Call 978-263-7220 form upcoming programs.
