Fitchburg Mass.- Did you know that in 2004 Boutwell, Owens Co., Fitchburg, Mass., installs the first U.S. model of the Mitsubishi Tandem Perfector. The 117-year-old manufacturer of custom-printed paperboard packaging exclusively runs Mitsubishi sheet-fed presses for its high-impact multicolor printing. The new press prints up to nine colors on the front side and one color on the backside without turning the sheet. The back printer is a dedicated UV print unit, while the top nine units can print either conventional or hybrid UV inks with interstation UV curing. The press is equipped with a scanning spectrophotometer and takes advantage of ColorLink to receive makeready data from electronic prepress.
