DAILY LEOMINSTER NEWS: first chief medical officer for Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster, Mass.

Leominster Mass.- Mr. Val W. Slayton, MD, MPP, is the first chief medical officer for Health Alliance Hospital in the city of Leominster, Mass. Health Alliance Hospital is a member of the U. Mass Memorial Healthcare System of North Central Mass. In this position, Slayton will have responsibility for clinical quality improvement, building relationships between the hospital and the medical staff, as well as between the medical staff and the U. Mass Memorial Medical Center. Previously, Slayton served as chief medical officer for Tewksbury Hospital (a Massachusetts public health hospital) while employed at U. Mass Medical School, as well as serving as chief medical officer at Fallon Community Health Plan. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, earned a Masters in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government, and is currently enrolled in the Online MBA program at U. Mass.
