People Buying Less Gas Than 2010 [Video]



Fitchburg and Leominster MA Entertainment News, Presented By Local Internet Marketing . - A new business and finance report by ABC News, shows that on 2011 people are buying less gas in the pass few weeks than in 2010. Can be many reasons for that, like this year more residents have hybrid cars, unemployment levels made people use city transportation more that other years, also downside from big trucks to small cars can also help gas spending go down.

Transocean Goes From Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill To Bonuses Donations


Fitchburg and Leominster MA Business News, Presented By The Justin Bieber Silly Bandz Store. - Transocean executives at the offshore drilling contractor at the center of last year's Gulf of Mexico oil spill decided to donate bonuses they got for the company's safety record last year.

The company disclosed the bonuses deep in a regulatory filing, justifying them by calling 2010 an example year for safety, despite the explosion on its rig that killed 11 and spilled 200 million gallons of oil. CEO Steven Newman and four others are donating their bonuses worth more than $250,000 to a fund set up by Transocean design to help the spill victim's families.

NCAA Basketball Men's Final When Down On Ratings


Fitchburg and Leominster MA News, Presented By The Justin Bieber Silly Bandz Store. - Butler lost vs. Conneticut for the college men's basketball had a CBS TV coverage that had around 11.7% of U.S. viewers, when down from 18% from last year's coverage of the Duke vs. Butler title game.

In general, CBS - Turner coverage average 6.4% for all NCAA TV game windows, which is up 7% from 2010.

Fitchburg And Leominster MA Event News. - Below is a list of some great events happening on Christmas Eve and Day in the city of Leominster Mass..

1. Holiday Services at St. Anna Catholic Church at 194 Lancaster St., on Friday December 24th from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. And Saturday, December 25th from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.


2. Come Home For Christmas: Holiday Mass Schedule, on Friday December 24th at 4 PM Prelude by Adult Folk Group at 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm. 12 Midnight Prelude by Choir at 11:30 pm.. And on December 25th at 10:00 am.

Held at: Our Lady of The Lake Parish, 1400 Main St.. All are welcome!


3. St. Mark's Episcopal Church, on 60 West St. will be offering holiday services: December 24th Family Service with Children's Sermon at 5:00 pm, Carol Sing at 10:30 pm, and Festive Holy Eucharist at 11:00 pm. Then on December 25th Holy Eucharist at 10:00 am.


4. At St. Cecilia's Parish on 170 Mechanic St., you can go and celebrate Christ's Birth with the community! Masses on December 24th at 4:00 pm, 6:30 pm, and 12:00 am midnight. 2010 First Snow Storm And School Not Cancel

Leominster and Fitchburg MA News. - To all residents, the first official snow storm started last night around 7pm with just a tiny drop of snow, but this morning our streets are all cover in white. It's actually just a little bit on the streets and side walks. But, be careful walking and driving anyways.


WARNING: The little blanket of snow is thin but slippery, so drive careful, and beware of bad drivers this holiday.


To all parents and students, school it's not cancel, but can be early dismissal if storm gets bad before noon.

2010 North Pole Calling By The Leominster Recreation Department & Senior Center



Leominster and Fitchburg MA News. - To all parents the Leom. Recreation Department, The Spanish American Center, and the Senior Citizens Center will be offering the "NORTH POLE CALLING" service a again this 2010. The purpose of this program is to offer children ages 3 to 6 the opportunity to talk directly with Santa Claus. Santa would be more than happy to call your son or daughter and wish him or her Merry Christmas.

If you would like your child to receive a call, you should had filled and mail the form that was sent 2 weeks ago with your child.

The form needed to be mailed to:

North Pole Calling
Leominster Recreation Department
25 West St.
Leom., MA. 01453.


Santa will not reveal to the child exactly what he or she is going to receive. He will only develop conversation and help to discourage extraordinary expectations of the child. Also, you can could tell Santa if you want him to mention any special message, like: Pick up your room, be nice to someone, study hard, etc..


Calling Schedule:

Tuesday December 14 2010, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
In the case of snow the call will be place the following day.


Extra Info: All information sheets must be received on or before Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010. Please be sure to enclose your $3.00 check. If, by chance, our call does not get through (Due to busy signals and lines, no answers, or wrong numbers) Santa will send a letter to your child. Festival Of Trees 2010 By Leominster City Hall



Leominster and Fitchburg MA News. - Here is a list of some of the events that were organized by the City of Leominster City Hall:

1. Sunday Novembers 28th: At 2pm Happy 100th birthday Mr. Christmas - Celebration & Concert.. Performances by local entertainers. Tickets were sold for $2.00 in advance and $5.00 at the door.


2. Wednesday December 1st.: From 5 to 7pm Free Photos with Santa at Leom. City Hall! Presented by the Leom. Small Business Association. Storytelling, crafts, and music. Bring your own camera for a photo with Santa. Admission is free, we just ask that you bring a donation for one of the following organizations:
  • Warmer Winters (yarn or financial donations).
  • Ginny's Helping Hands (non-perishable food items).
  • The Rose Project (everyday items for the elderly: new socks, night wear, front open sweaters, sweats, gently used blankets and sheets, large print games and books, playing cards, etc.).

3. Saturday December 4th.: At 1:00 - 5:00 pm Holiday Stroll - Visit Santa, take a hayride around downtown and grab some hot cocoa and cookies while enjoying activities at participating businesses and organizations. Parade at 1:00 pm with Grand Marshall Louis Charpentier. Tree lighting at 4:30 pm in Monument Square. For more information call (978) 534-7525 ext. 260 (rain date Dec. 5th).


4. Sunday Dec. 5th: At 2 pm, Montachusett Chorale (City Hall, Tata Auditorium). Tickets: $15 Door, $12 Advance. Under 18 Free. For more information call (978) 534-9187 or (978) 840-9500. The concert will benefit Montachusett Interfaith Hospitality Network.


5. Tuesday Dec. 7th: At 10:00 AM Leominster Public Library. CR Program Room. Kids ages 3 and up are invited to the Dr. Martin T. Feldman Children's Room for some holiday fun! We'll read "The Snow Globe Family" by Jane O'Connor and afterwards, kids will make a reindeer gift bag that they can share with someone special. Registration Required and begins on 11/23. Sponsored by the Friends of the Leo. Public Library.


6. Tuesday Dec. 7th Through Thursday Dec. 9th: Display of Louie's vast collection of works throughout the years. On Wednesday Dec. 8th there will be a reception sponsored by Leo. Credit Union and the Center for Technical Education. All are welcome. Display times will be 10am to 4pm each day. Location: Leominster Veterans Center, 100 West Street.


7. Friday Dec. 10th and Saturday Dec. 11th: At 7:30pm - The Most Peaceful Night of the Year - A great night of Christmas Music with Mark Marquis & Friends. Unitarian Church 15 West Street, Leom., MA. Tickets on sale at City Music, Wavelengths, Salvi's Barber Shop, and Gordon's Music. (Snow date Sunday Dec. 12th).


8. Friday Dec. 10th and Saturday Dec. 11th: At 7 pm Leominster High School Presents: The Music Man. Ticket $10.


9. December 10th: At 7 PM Come and sing Happy Birthday to Louie Charpentier "Mr. Christmas" outside his home on Merriam Avenue amongst his Christmas display on his official 100th birthday!


10. Sunday Dec. 12th: From 2 to 4 pm The Montachusett Chorale's Hot Fugue Sunday: Winter Wonderland - Join us for an afternoon of festive music as the Montachusett Chorale's Hot Fugue Sunday entertains us with popular songs of the season and invited you to join them in sing-alone. Free and open to the public. No reservations required.


11. Monday Dec. 13th: At 6 pm Southeast Elementary School of Leom. MA will held a Christmas show presented by their students. You can get to meet the strongest Kid in the Massachusetts and soon the world Quinn Phommatham, after he brakes the record in front of the Guiness Book of Records.


12. Wednesday Dec. 15th: LHS Holiday Concert.


13. Wednesday Dec. 16th: From 6 to 7 pm CR Program Room Leom. Public Library. Please join the us here at the Dr. Martin T. Feldman's Children's Room, Leom. Public Library as we discover some 'winter wonders.' We will read "Winter is the Warmest Season" by Lauren Stringer and "In The Snow: Who's Been Here?" by Lindsay Barret George. Afterwards we will do a related craft. Suitable for children ages 3-7. Registration required and begins on 12/2. Sponsored by the Friends of the Leominster Public Library.


14. Saturday December 18th: Have a breakfast with Santa and other activities in the LHS auditorium from 8 am to 11 am.


15. Sunday January 2nd 2011: At 7 pm Merrimac Valley Bell Ringers at Pilgrim Congregational Church. Free will donation to the Merrimac Valley Bell Ringers. No snow date.

2010 Thanksgiving Travel Experience Got A Boost

Fitchburg and Leominster MA News. - Last year a lot of people reported that their Thanksgiving travel experience was very bad or worse than usual. But, in 2010 look like most travelers have good time while on vacation.

Here is the result from a survey made by USA Today:

- 54% said it was as usual.

- 29% said it was better than usual.

- 9% said that is was the worst ever.

- And 8% said it was worse than usual.

Do You Think Families Consent to Organ Donations

Leominster and Fitchburg MA News. - Do you think is unethical to donate the organs of ones of your relative after they died? Well, most people says yes on the a survey, here is the results:

- 39% said no.
